So smart it hurts
This is Candy Poses, she is a feminist nude model (yes they exist). In her blog post today she sheds some light on the hardness of being smart and naked:
“When I do leave this career, it won’t be because I get too old. It will be because I’m tired of what goes along with the territory. I’ll be tired of photographers being surprised at my ability to carry on conversations about multiple topics. I’ll be tired of being viewed by some people as someone who just has to stand there naked. I’ll be tired of all the implications that the label of “nude model” brings upon myself.”
Feminist/intelligent porn performers and models are the rule rather than the exception when it comes to indie sites that are run by the person they feature. I totally understand what Candy is saying, and I find it odd that she’s pointed out as an oddity. I’ve found that the women I’ve met as an amateur pornographer and model are by far the most articulate and intelligent women I’ve been surroudned with in my entire life. I’m not saying that everyone who gets fucked for money is Mensa material, but it’s obnoxious to have to constantly combat the idea that those of us who work in front of the camera are drug-addled morons who can’t carry on conversations.

Thank you for your comment - I will try to find more blog posts from the likes of Candy and other smart models so that they are not perceived as “odd” when they appear in this blog. Do you have a blog yourself Furry Girl?
